About [CT] Scalp Engine Core
The [CT] Scalp Engine Core is designed to help traders quickly evaluate the strength, direction, and quality of short-term price movement. The indicator combines two complementary engines. The first is the CT Drive Engine, which measures directional pressure by combining volume with the relationship between the candle open, close, high, and low. This produces a histogram that helps distinguish strong bullish pressure, weak bullish pressure, strong bearish pressure, weak bearish pressure, and neutral conditions. The second component is the Volume Trend Line, which uses Price Volume Trend behavior to identify the current volume regime and determine whether volume flow is leaning bullish or bearish. Together, these components provide a compact momentum framework intended to help scalpers determine whether price movement has genuine participation behind it or whether momentum is weakening.

How It Works
The CT Drive Rail begins by measuring the candle's directional movement relative to its total range and multiplying that value by volume. That raw drive value is then smoothed using an EMA controlled by the Drive Speed setting. A dynamic Balance Field is calculated from the average absolute drive pressure. This creates a threshold that helps separate ordinary movement from stronger directional pressure. The histogram is classified into four primary states: Strong Bullish Drive — The Drive Rail is above zero, increasing, and above the positive Balance Field. Weak Bullish Drive — The Drive Rail is above zero but does not meet all strong bullish conditions. Strong Bearish Drive — The Drive Rail is below zero, decreasing, and below the negative Balance Field. Weak Bearish Drive — The Drive Rail is below zero but does not meet all strong bearish conditions. Neutral conditions are displayed when directional drive is limited. The Volume Trend Line uses Price Volume Trend, or PVT, to identify recent swing-high and swing-low regimes. Its magnitude is based on the change in PVT, while its direction reflects whether the current volume regime is bullish or bearish. Because the Drive Rail and Volume Trend Line can naturally operate at very different numerical scales, the indicator can automatically scale the Volume Trend Line so both components remain clearly visible in the same indicator pane. When price-bar coloring is enabled, the chart candles use the same Drive Engine state colors for immediate visual confirmation.
Suggested Usage
The Scalp Engine Core should be used primarily as a momentum and participation confirmation tool within The Traders Vibe trading process. For long setups, the strongest conditions generally occur when the Drive Rail shows Strong Bullish Drive and the Volume Trend Line is also in its bullish state. This indicates that directional price pressure and volume behavior are working together. For short setups, look for Strong Bearish Drive with a bearish Volume Trend Line. Weak bullish or bearish states can be useful for identifying momentum deterioration, pullbacks, or situations where price is moving but directional pressure is not as strong. A change from strong to weak momentum can also provide an early warning that the current move is losing energy. The indicator is especially useful for scalping because it helps answer three important questions quickly: Which side currently has control? How strong is the directional pressure? Is volume behavior supporting the move? It should be combined with price structure, trend direction, support and resistance, and other Traders Vibe confirmation tools rather than being used as a standalone entry signal.
Settings and Configuration
The default settings provide a responsive starting configuration for intraday and scalping use. Drive Speed — 5 Controls the EMA smoothing of the CT Drive Rail. Lower values make the histogram respond faster to changes in momentum. Higher values create a smoother but slower response. Use Balance Field — On Adds a dynamic strength threshold to the Drive Engine. This helps distinguish stronger directional pressure from ordinary movement around the zero line. Balance Field % — 0.35 Controls the size of the strength threshold. Lower values make it easier for a move to qualify as strong. Higher values require greater directional pressure. Lookback High / Low — 25 Controls the swing-high and swing-low lookback used by the Volume Trend Line's PVT regime engine. VT Amplitude — 1.0 Controls the magnitude of the underlying Volume Trend calculation. Auto-Scale VT To Histogram — On Automatically scales the Volume Trend Line relative to the Drive Rail so both remain visible in the same indicator window. This changes only the display scale and does not change the underlying Volume Trend logic. VT Auto-Scale Lookback — 100 Determines how much historical data is used when comparing the average magnitude of the Drive Rail and Volume Trend Line. VT Display Multiplier — 1.0 Allows the trader to visually increase or decrease the displayed size of the Volume Trend Line without changing its underlying calculations. VT Max Auto-Scale — 50.0 Places a maximum limit on automatic Volume Trend scaling. Color Price Bars — On Applies the CT Drive state colors directly to the price candles. Show Volume Trend Line — On Displays the PVT-based Volume Trend Line over the Drive Rail histogram. For faster markets or very short-term scalping, traders can experiment with a lower Drive Speed. For slower or noisier markets, increasing the Drive Speed can help smooth short-term fluctuations.
