About [CT] Directional Bias Indicator
The [CT] Directional Bias Indicator is designed to provide a fast, easy-to-read view of current market direction. The indicator uses a 14-period RSI calculation and converts it into a scaled column oscillator. Rather than focusing on traditional RSI overbought and oversold levels, this tool uses the RSI midpoint as an equilibrium level. When momentum is above equilibrium, the indicator displays a bullish directional bias. When momentum is below equilibrium, the indicator displays a bearish directional bias. This makes the indicator useful as a directional filter when evaluating entries with other Traders Vibe tools. Instead of asking whether RSI is overbought or oversold, the Directional Bias Indicator answers a simpler question: Is current momentum favoring buyers or sellers?
What this indicator provides
- Designed to support structured market analysis.
- Built for use inside the Traders Vibe trading process.
- Review the access panel for the correct delivery path.
How It Works
The indicator begins with a standard 14-period RSI calculation. The RSI value is then scaled into an oscillator ranging approximately from: 0.00 to 3.50 The central equilibrium level is: 1.75 This corresponds to the traditional RSI midpoint of 50. The interpretation is straightforward: Above 1.75 — Bullish Bias The histogram displays green columns when momentum is above equilibrium. Below 1.75 — Bearish Bias The histogram displays red columns when momentum is below equilibrium. The equilibrium line provides a clear visual reference for identifying changes in directional bias. Optional chart candle coloring can also be enabled. When candle coloring is active: Green candles indicate bullish directional bias. Red candles indicate bearish directional bias. This allows traders to see the oscillator state without constantly looking away from the main price chart. The current script also contains a Divergence selection input with Regular, Hidden, All, and None options. However, divergence plotting logic is not implemented in the current version of the code, so that setting does not presently generate divergence signals or lines.
Suggested Usage
The Directional Bias Indicator is best used as a directional filter and momentum confirmation tool within The Traders Vibe trading process. For long setups, traders can give greater attention to opportunities when the oscillator is above the 1.75 equilibrium level and displaying green. For short setups, greater attention can be given when the oscillator is below equilibrium and displaying red. A transition across equilibrium can also help identify a potential shift in short-term directional control. A practical workflow is: Green Bias → Favor bullish setups Red Bias → Favor bearish setups The indicator can be especially useful when combined with tools such as HLBO, CFB Trend Filter, Scalp Engine Core, Pulse Sync Engine, support and resistance, or price-action structure. The goal is not to use the Directional Bias Indicator as a standalone entry signal, but to help determine which side of the market currently has the momentum advantage.
Settings and Configuration
The Directional Bias Indicator is intentionally simple and requires very little configuration. Show Indicator — On Controls visibility of the indicator module. In the current script, the equilibrium-line visibility is tied to this setting. Column Width — 1 Controls the visual thickness of the oscillator columns. Increase the value for thicker histogram bars. Color Chart Candles — Off When enabled, price candles are colored according to the current directional bias. Green indicates bullish bias. Red indicates bearish bias. Show Divergence Available selections are: Regular Hidden All None The current version contains this setting in the interface, but divergence calculations and drawings are not yet implemented in the script. Visual Interpretation Green Columns RSI is above 50 and directional bias is bullish. Red Columns RSI is below 50 and directional bias is bearish. 1.75 Equilibrium Level Represents the RSI 50 midpoint and separates bullish from bearish momentum. For most Traders Vibe users, I would keep the indicator at its default configuration and use the 1.75 equilibrium level as the primary directional reference.
This tool is designed to support a complete trading process with market context, defined risk, and clear invalidation. It is not a guarantee of future results.
